If you don't think you can win this round, start the next with a bit of a bonus. Also gives a reason for the Surrender Button, to exist on the Astral Plane. That adds to the strategy, as now you have the dilemma of, do you use energy to help on this shard, or save it to make the next game easier. What I imagine for this would be that you never lose your energy, whenever you start over, you keep what you have saved, and get to spend it to preserve buildings, contracts, or item rewards you like for the next cycle. Anyone who complains it unbalances the game.well, it probably does, but that's why Vanilla New Game is there too, so you can start all the way over if you want. I'm a big fan of New Game + and feel it should have become industry standard years ago, as it adds to a game's replay value significantly, without much effort on the Developer's part.
